Introduction

Welcome to Japan! Arrive in Tokyo at your own pace, with an option to pre-book a transfer from the airport or cruise port. Settle into your hotel and enjoy free time to explore the city before the adventure begins. Overnight in Tokyo.

Discover the contrasts of Tokyo, where tradition meets modern energy. Start at the Imperial Palace Gardens and view the iconic Nijubashi Bridge. Wander the lively Nakamise shopping street leading to Senso-ji Temple in Asakusa. After a break for lunch, visit the serene Meiji Jingu Shrine, then experience the youthful vibes of Harajuku and the buzz of Shibuya Crossing. Overnight in Tokyo.

A day trip takes you into the Fuji Five Lakes region. Visit Oishi Park on Lake Kawaguchi with stunning views of Mt. Fuji, then climb to Arakurayama for the famous Chureito Pagoda. Stop at Oshino Hakkai, a picturesque village of ponds fed by Fuji’s snowmelt. If weather allows, ascend to the 5th Station of Mount Fuji. Return to Tokyo for overnight.

Immerse yourself in Tokyo’s culinary culture. Explore the historic Tsukiji Hongwan-ji Temple, then dive into the vibrant Tsukiji Outer Market. Sample a variety of local specialties from friendly vendors, from sushi to sweet treats, while learning the history of this iconic district. Visit Namiyoke Shrine before heading back. Overnight in Tokyo.

Board a high-speed bullet train to Kyoto. In the evening, step back in time with a walking tour through Pontocho Alley and the Gion district, where geisha traditions still live on. Visit Yasaka Shrine and stroll Hanamikoji Street, taking in the atmospheric lanterns and wooden teahouses. Overnight in Kyoto.

Spend the morning in Kyoto at the glittering Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji) and the tranquil Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. Continue to the Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its thousands of red torii gates. Travel to Nara to see Todai-ji Temple and its Great Buddha, and enjoy time with the friendly deer in Nara Park. Return to Kyoto for overnight.

Take the train to Osaka and discover this dynamic city. Walk through the colorful Namba and Dotonbori districts, explore Kuromon Ichiba Market, and enjoy the retro charm of Shinsekai. Visit Osaka Castle and shop along Shinsaibashi before returning to Kyoto in the evening. Overnight in Kyoto.

Your journey ends after breakfast. Optional transfers are available to Kansai Airport, Osaka Port, or Kobe Port, or you may return to Tokyo by train depending on your onward plans.
