Spiti Valley by motorcycle is one of the most demanding and rewarding rides in India, and this 8 days 7 nights expedition from Delhi is built around a single, rare milestone — reaching the "Tibet, 0 KM" marker at Lepcha La, where the road quite literally runs out at the edge of the Tibetan plateau. For NCR riders and backpackers alike, this route takes a different path through Himachal than the usual Spiti circuit, adding Tirthan Valley and the Kinnaur stretch through Sangla and Chitkul.
The journey builds gradually. After an overnight bus to Aut, riders collect their bikes near Manali and settle into Gushaini in the Tirthan Valley, with a short trail to Chhoie Waterfall for backpackers on the same day. The route then covers roughly 230 km through Kinnaur Valley's cliffside roads to Chitkul, the last Indian village on the Indo-Tibet route, before continuing to Nako via the Khab Sangam, where the Sutlej and Spiti rivers meet in contrasting colours. The centrepiece comes on Day 5 — crossing Lepcha La to the Tibet border point, followed by Tabo Monastery, one of the Himalayas' oldest living monasteries. From Kaza, the route covers Key Monastery, the Chicham Bridge (Asia's highest suspension bridge), and the high villages of Komic, Hikkim, and Langza, before a final night camped beside Chandratal Lake under a clear, high-altitude sky.
The package includes bike rental and fuel for 7 riding days, riding gear (helmet, gloves, elbow and knee guards), 7 nights of accommodation across resorts, camps, and hotels, 13 meals through the journey, adventure medical insurance, mechanical backup support, and a 24x7 emergency oxygen cylinder carried throughout. A non-biking backpacker option is also available on the same route and schedule.
Pack & Go is a Gurugram-based travel agency that runs planned, well-supported group expeditions for NCR riders and backpackers into high-altitude terrain. Our team manages permits, mechanical support, medical readiness, and daily logistics, so the focus stays on the ride itself.
This Spiti bike expedition suits experienced riders comfortable with high-altitude, unpaved mountain roads, as well as backpackers who want the same route without riding. Group departures are open to travellers aged 16 to 42. Reach out to our team to check current departure dates and bike availability.
Assemble at the Delhi boarding point by evening and settle into your overnight Volvo bound for Aut. The journey begins the moment the city lights fade behind you — get some sleep, the mountains are waiting.
Meals: None
Reach Aut by morning and head to the resort in Gushaini, tucked inside the Tirthan Valley. Backpackers freshen up and set out on a short 35-minute trail to Chhoie Waterfall, while bikers collect their rides in Manali and complete a test run down to Gushaini. Regroup over dinner at the resort.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
The longest riding day of the trip covers roughly 230 km through Kinnaur Valley's most dramatic stretches — narrow cliff roads, river gorges, and the turquoise Sutlej running alongside for miles. Reach Chitkul, the final Indian village on the Indo-Tibet route, by evening and settle into the camps.
Meals: Dinner
Wake up early in Chitkul and walk its wooden-house lanes while the Baspa River hums below. After breakfast, ride toward Nako, stopping at the Khab Sangam where the Sutlej and Spiti rivers meet in a striking display of colour contrast. The terrain shifts progressively more rugged as Nako comes into view by evening.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
This is the day riders talk about long after the trip ends. Cross Lepcha La and pull up at the milestone reading 'Tibet — 0 KM', where the view stretches into the vast Tibetan plateau beyond the border. Then visit Tabo Monastery, one of the Himalaya's oldest living monasteries, before the open road delivers you into Kaza through wide valleys and raw mountain desert.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
A full day exploring Spiti's most iconic spots within riding distance of Kaza. Start at Key Monastery on its hilltop perch, then cross Chicham Bridge — Asia's highest suspension bridge — with the valley dropping away beneath you. Continue to Komic (4,513 m), one of the world's highest inhabited villages, then Hikkim's world-record post office, and finally Langza where a giant Buddha overlooks fossil beds left behind by the ancient Tethys Sea.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Ride out of Kaza toward Losar, Spiti's last village, for a snack break before the road climbs to Chandratal. The crescent lake reveals itself slowly as you crest the final ridge — turquoise water against an ash-coloured landscape. Camp overnight here; after dark the Milky Way stretches directly overhead in a way that's rare anywhere else in India.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
An early start leads to one of the most varied riding stretches of the trip — high passes, water crossings, and off-road sections before the descent into cedar-lined Kullu Valley and Manali. Check in, rest, then head to Old Manali's café strip to decompress over good coffee and local food.
Meals: Breakfast

Did the bike trip in August and the Tibet border stop at Lepcha La genuinely gave me goosebumps. Standing there, engine off, nothing around for miles — that's the moment I'll remember. The mechanical support team was always close by which gave a lot of confidence on the tougher stretches.
I went as a backpacker, not a biker, and still had a brilliant time. The Tirthan Valley resort on Day 1 was a lovely surprise — very peaceful. Kaza days were packed but well organised. Chandratal camp was cold but absolutely worth it for the night sky alone.
Eight days felt both too short and complete at the same time. The route is genuinely different from the usual Spiti tour — Lepcha La, Tirthan Valley, Nako — it's not the same stops everyone does. Trip captain was solid throughout, kept the group in good spirits even on the long riding days.
